Street Ministry

What & Why

Street Ministry goes into our local communities to care, feed, clothe and build friendships with our neighbors in need.  We work with many great partners/organizations such as Common Ground, Emmaus House, YMCA/YWCA,  Our Neighbor’s Table, Leaving the Street, The Salvation Army and more!

Jesus met people where they were, often in the streets.  As Christ followers and servants of God we go to the streets to met our homeless & low-income neighbors and seek to provide aid through our words, actions and provisions.

Jesus instructed us to go to the least among us and shared when we give to others we are giving it to Him.  Let’s love, grow & serve together in His name!

Where & When

Our Street Ministers meet on Saturday Morning at Common Ground Cafe located at 194 Winter Street, Haverhill, MA 01830 at 8am and usually spend time, sing songs and share clothing and pass out meal packs to those in need.

After 9:30 we either open the cafe to provide relief from the weather or go out to GAR Park, the bridge, or other locations in the greater Haverhill area where there are homeless residents in need.

Our goal is to build relationships that allow us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help our friends find avenues of healing and wellness.   Often we must provide physical needs before we can help spiritually.  We are not counselors but just christians offering assistance and truth in Jesus’ Name!

How do I help?

Pray, encourage, support & go!

Pray for our team, our protection and our neighbors we are called to serve.

Encourage our Street Team by you words and actions.  It is very satisfying work but can be physically and emotional draining.  Let our Street Ministers know that they are being prayed for, that they are appreciated and that the work they are doing makes a difference for the lives they touch and the Kingdom of God.

Support our Street Ministry by providing items for the meal packs such as sandwiches and snacks at the signup by clicking here: MEAL PACK BLESSINGS  Also, you can donate clothing or money to help us provide other necessities to our friends in need.  CLICK HERE TO GIVE

Go and join our team on the Street. Yes, you can be a Street Minister too!  We’re all called to be ministers of the Gospel and some of us are called to  serve the homeless and those with little or no resources.
