LOVE GROW SERVE

At Just Church we use simple words and phrases to communicate simple truths.  A few of those are “JUST AS I AM”, Love.  Grow.  Serve. and #together.

So, what does “JUST AS I AM” mean?  Let’s break it down, shall we?

Often times, what keeps us from seeking God, is feeling as though we are not yet good enough.  Like we need to be “as good” as someone else before we can be loved by our God.  We think that we need to “clean up our act”, that we need to break our own chains so that we are then good enough to receive Gods love. We may think that our past is unforgivable to God. How many times have we heard “if I walked into a church, I’d burst into flames, or the church would burn down”.  Those are lies we tell ourselves, God NEVER told us to get ourselves together and only then will we be deserving of his love, forgiveness and grace.

JUST AS I AM is the way that God receives all of us. We don’t have to clean up our act. We don’t have to change our lives to come to Christ. That was all done on the cross. Jesus took all of our sins upon Himself and died for us.

In God, you are enough, you are so loved, you are forgiven, you have a Heavenly Father who always wants the best for you! You are absolutely unique. God broke the mold when He made you. You were created with a mission in mind that only YOU can conquer! There’s not a single other person on the face of this earth that has the same abilities and passion as you do. If you make the choice to seek Jesus, get up each day and be the person that He has made you to be, I can promise you that you will see your gifts and talents come out in full force and He will take you places you’ve never dreamed of!  Just Be You!

Please recognize you are a child of God with a huge family, the whole world.  Unity in our diversity allows us to be greater and more effective in collaboration rather than limited apart.    That’s why we believe that God created the Church not to put rules and obligations on us but to bring freedom and dynamic individuals #together to be a united force for good to seek to be our best selves, families, community and society.

Another expression we like to use is “Comparison is a Punk!”  This life is not a competition, it is not a comparison game.  God has given you what you need to do what He has called you to do. He didn’t make you to do everything that everybody else is doing. Galatians 6:4, “Let each man examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to anybody else.” It’s when we compare that we lose our joy and confidence.

Are you wearing somebody else’s clothes? Are you being who God created you to be or are you trying to live up to other people’s standards & expectations? So let’s wake up each day and be the people that God made us to be.  “JUST AS WE ARE” we will be able to love, grow and serve better together!
